Kudos Stacy Southerland — Stacy Southerland, Ph.D., recently was recognized for excellence and innovation in online teaching and learning environment design with the 2018 United States Distance Learning International Award for Teaching in Higher Education. Southerland is a professor with the College of Liberal Arts and the Center for eLearning and Connected Environments-Institute for Learning Environment Design.

Southerland’s online teaching was also recognized in 2018 by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education with the Oklahoma Online Excellence Award for teaching. She was also named co-recipient with Bucky Dodd, Ph.D., of a 2018 Online Learning Consortium Effective Practice International Award for effective techniques, strategies and practices that advance excellence in online education. Dodd is the chief learning innovation officer for the Center for eLearning and Connected Environments.

SAFE to Walk in OKC Pride Parade, June 24

The Student Alliance for Equality (SAFE) invites members of the Central community to march in the Oklahoma City LGBTQ Pride Parade that begins 6 p.m. Sunday, June 24, on the corner of Classen and N.W. 39th, Oklahoma City. All are welcome.

SAFE will also have a booth at the Oklahoma City Pride Festival, beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 23, the LGBTQ Strip, along N.W. 39th between Pennsylvania Avenue and Youngs Boulevard.
