Kudos Mike Nelson — Mike Nelson, Ph.D., professor and chair of the Department of Educational Sciences, Foundations and Research, recently was elected for a three-year term as a councilor in the Education Division of the Council on Undergraduate Research. Nelson’s term began at the close of the group’s Annual Business Meeting and will end at the conclusion of the Annual Business Meeting in 2021.

College of Business Presentation by Incoming Dean Monica Lam, May 16

Provost John Barthell invites the Central community to a presentation by Monica Lam, Ph.D., incoming dean for the College of Business, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, in Room 115, Education.

The presentation, “Neural Network Techniques for Financial Performance Prediction,” investigates the ability of neural networks, specifically the backpropagation algorithm, to integrate fundamental and technical analysis for financial performance prediction.
